Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD)

CSD-11: Learning Centre

To further implementation of Agenda 21 and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation, a Learning Center was introduced as an experiment at CSD-11. The aim of the Learning Center was to facilitate teaching/training at a practical level on various aspects of sustainable development for interested representatives of major groups, governments and intergovernmental organizations who were accredited to attend the CSD-11 session. The mini-courses were designed to impart useful/practical knowledge so as to help participants to implement Agenda 21 and the Plan of Implementation in their home countries.

This training was open to all CSD-11 participants. Each training seminar/course was held during 3-hour periods in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library Auditorium, UN Secretariat Building, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. on the following dates: 28 April, 30 April, 5, 6 and 7 May 2003.
