Plenary meetings of the General Assembly

The General Assembly held two plenary meetings on 6 October, devoted to the evaluation of progress made in the implementation of the World Programme of Action for Youth. During these meetings, Members States, many of which were represented by national youth delegates, presented their views while delegates from youth organizations and UN Agencies attended as observers.

Interactive Roundtable: Young people: Making Commitments Matter

The General Assembly had also decided to hold, prior to the plenary meetings, an informal, interactive roundtable discussion on the theme Young People: Making Commitments Matter. The roundtable discussion was open to all Member States, observers, organizations of the United Nations system and non-governmental youth organizations.
