Information Note for
Organizers of Special Events during the UNPFII
14 – 25 May 2007

Some sixty Special Events are scheduled during the session as of now. They are organized by Member States, UN entities, other intergovernmental organizations, NGOs, the Secretariat and others. Special events take place mostly at lunch time, but also in the evening. The schedule of the side events is available here.
All organizers of Special events had been approved for accreditation to the Sixth Session of the UNPFII.
Speakers or participants who will participate to any special event must be pre-registered by organizers to the sixth session of the UNPFII. If your Speaker is not pre-registered to the session, please send the name and date of your event to masaquiza[at]un.org in order to request a day pass for your speaker by 8 May 2007 (1pm).
The special theme of the sixth session is “Territories, lands and national resources”. The agenda also places special emphasis on implementation and includes a half-day discussion on Asia, a half-day discussion on urban indigenous peoples and migration and a discussion on data collection and disaggregation.
Please note:
· Most of the time Special Events are held from 1:15pm to 2:45pm.
· No computer or laptop can be provided for any of the events.
· Interpretation booths can be provided at a cost to organizers but no interpretation service will be provided for any Special Events. Dag Hammarskjöld Library Auditorium (DHL) and the UN Alphabet conference rooms have no interpretation booths.
· After your Special Event a brief summary is welcome. It will be posted on our website.
· COST: There is a current standard rates for equipment usage in the UN building.
