The Fifth Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues took place at UN Headqarters in New York, on 1st. Avenue between 42nd. and 46th. Streets.

This year's Session will began with the launching of the Programme of Action for the Second International Decade of the World's Indigenous Peopl. In addition to the formal Forum Session, the There were over 50 side events scheduled for the two weeks while the Forum is in session.
