Photos of the International Day Events: The Event at United Nations Headquarters took place on the North Lawn where over 900 staff gathered to be addressed not only by the Secretary-General but also by a representative from ATD Fourth World Mr. Adonis Salas. Participants led by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon crouched down on their knees and, on a count of three, stood up to demonstrate support for the fight against poverty. By the time of the Headquarters event, other duty stations had already organized highly successful Stand Up events around the world. |
