Implementation of General Assembly resolution 62/128
on cooperatives in social development

The General Assembly, in its resolution 62/128, requested the Secretary-General, in consultation with Member States and the relevant international organizations, to consider effective ways and means of raising public awareness of the overall socio-economic impact of cooperatives, including the desirability and the feasibility of proclaiming an International Year of Cooperatives, and to report thereon to the General Assembly (paragraph 8).

Responses to the questionnaires will be used as input to the Secretary-General’s Report on the desirability and feasibility of an International Year of Cooperatives to be submitted to the 64th session of the General Assembly in 2009.
