Since the Summit in 1995, the General Assembly has annually considered the issue of implementation of the outcome of the World Summit for Social Development, taking stock of follow-up activities undertaken at the national level and within the United Nations, including in its subsidiary bodies ECOSOC and the Commission for Social Development, as well as sharing experiences, lessons learned and obstacles encountered.  Each year, the Assembly has held a general debate and adopted a resolution on the implementation of the outcome of the Summit.
