Policy encouraging the return of nationals refers to Government policies encouraging the return of nationals who have emigrated. Policy favouring the integration of non-nationals reflects the existence of Government policies specifically aimed at facilitating the integration of migrants and non-nationals into the host society. Parties to refugee instruments indicates whether or not a country is a party to the 1951 United Nations Convention and the 1967 Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees. C indicates that the country is a party to the 1951 United Nations Convention relating to the Status of Refugees P indicates that the country is a party to the 1967 Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees CP indicates that the country is a party to the 1951 United Nations Convention and the 1967 Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees - indicates that the country is not a party to any of the two refugee instruments Notes: ----- Two dots (..) indicate that data are not readily available. (1) These States have made a declaration in accordance with article 1, section B(1) of the 1951 Convention to the effect that the words "events occurring before 1 January 1951" in article 1, section A, should be understood to mean "events occurring in Europe before 1 January 1951". All other States parties apply the Convention without geographical limitation. Malta and Turkey have expressly maintained their declaration of geographical limitation with regard to the 1951 Convention upon acceding to the 1967 Protocol. (2) Denmark declared that the Convention was also applicable to Greenland. (3) The United Kingdom extended application of the Convention to the following territories for the conduct of whose international relations the Government of the United Kingdom is responsible: Channel Islands, Falkland Islands (Malvinas), Isle of Man, St. Helena. The United Kingdom declared that its accession to the Protocol did not apply to Jersey, but extended its application to Montserrat. (4) France declared that the Convention applied to all territories for whose international relations France was responsible. (5) The Netherlands extended application of the Protocol to Aruba.
