| World Population Prospects: The 1998 Revision (forthcoming) |

Presents the results of the 1998 Revision of the global population estimates and projections for the world, the more developed and the less developed regions, six major areas, 20 regions and 228 countries and areas for the 100-year period between 1950 and 2050. For the period 1995-2050, four variants of projections were prepared: the high-, medium-, low- and constant-fertility variants.

Reviews selected aspects of international migration and development. Chapter I examines international migration issues in the three major United Nations meetings and conferences dealing with population. Chapter II discusses the relationship between international migration and population dynamics. Chapter III examines Governments' views on international migration and how these views have changed over time. Chapters IV, V and VI review specific issues related to respectively, documented migrants, undocumented migrants and refugees and asylum-seekers. Chapter VII considers international labour migration. International migration and gender issues is discussed in chapter VIII. And finally, chapter IX discusses the complex interrelationships between international migration and development.

Presents estimates and projections of the size and growth of the urban and rural populations for all countries of the world, as well as of urban agglomerations that have population of 750,000 persons or more by 1995. Data are represented for the world, the less developed and the more developed regions, the least developed countries and individual countries, along with regional aggregates. Estimates and projections are provided for the period 1950-2030 (2015 for urban agglomerations).
