NGO PARTICIPATION The Commission on Population and Development will be holding its forty-first session from 7-11 April 2008 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The theme of the session is "the changing age structures of populations and their implications for development". Documents for the Commission are posted on the web site of the Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, www.unpopulation.org. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) wishing to participate in the Commission should, at their earliest convenience, contact Ms. Hanifa Mezoui, Chief, Non-Governmental Organizations Section of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, concerning accreditation requirements, passes, and other logistics for attendance at the Commission. Such interventions usually take place on the afternoon of the third day of the Commission, this year on Wednesday afternoon, 9 April 2008. The statement is to be under five minutes in length. NGOs wishing to make an oral intervention should notify the Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Otto Gustafik, on the Wednesday morning or earlier. The deadline for accredited NGOs to submit written statements for the forty-first session of the Commission was 25 January 2008.
