It has been brought to the attention of the United Nations Population Division that false offers of employment are circulating on the Internet, in the name of the "United Nations Commission for (sic) Population and Development". The Commission on Population and Development is a subsidiary body of the Economic and Social Council; it meets once a year to discuss population and development issues and plays no role in personnel recruitment. Recipients of such offers are advised to disregard them and refrain from sending personal information or money to the contact addresses provided by the scammers. The e-mail addresses are often registered under country codes such as .tc (Turks and Caicos Islands) or .sp (Sao Tome and Principe). Persons interested in applying for United Nations employment should consult the list of current vacancies at http://jobs.un.org The United Nations does not charge any fees in connection with recruitment.
