 mdg gap

On 4 September 2008, the Secretary General launched the first report of the MDG Gap Task Force, MDG-8: Delivering on the Global Partnership for Achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

This report is the collective effort of UN agencies, the World Bank, IMF, WTO and OECD. It was commissioned by the Secretary General in response to the need to improve monitoring of the international commitments made in relation to aid, trade, debt and access to essential medicines and technology. The gaps of implementation identified by the report and the policy actions recommended to close those gaps will provide a solid foundation to the inter-governmental deliberations that will take place during the MDG High Level Event that will take place in New York in September.
