GENERAL EXCHANGE OF VIEWS ON THE SECOND REVIEW AND APPRAISAL OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NAIROBI FORWARD-LOOKING STRATEGIES FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN TO THE YEAR 2000 1994 World Survey on the Role of Women in Development Note by the Secretariat 1. By its resolution 36/8 on the preparations for the Fourth World Conference on Women: Action for Equality, Development and Peace, the Commission on the Status of Women decided that the agenda for the Conference should include the second review and appraisal of the Nairobi Forward-looking Strategies for the Advancement of Women. 2. It decided that the documentation under this item should include the 1994 update of the World Survey on the Role of Women in Development. The executive summary of the 1994 World Survey on the Role of Women in Development (A/49/378) was submitted to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session. The full text of the Survey (ST/ESA/241; Sales No. E.95.IV.1) was made available to the Commission on the Status of Women at its thirty-ninth session and will be submitted to the Conference for its consideration. -----
