Draft platform for action [9] Non-Paper No. 9 (Chapter IV, Section E) The Vice-Chairperson of the Committee, Ms. Irene Freudenschuss- Reichl (Austria) introduced the document and reported on the results of consultations held in Working Group II. Following statements by the representatives of Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, Mauritius and the United States, as well as by the Vice-Chairperson, Ms. Yeboaa (Ghana), the Committee approved the recommendations contained in Non-Paper No. 14 for adoption by the Plenary of the Conference. Non-Paper No. 17 (Chapter V) The Vice-Chairperson of the Committee, Ms. Amma Yeboaa (Ghana) introduced the document and reported on the results of consultations held in Working Group I. Following statements by the representatives of Spain (on behalf of the European Union), Kuwait and the United States, the Committee approved the recommendations contained in Non-Paper No. 17, as corrected, for adoption by the Plenary of the Conference. Non-Paper No. 18 (Chapter VI) The Vice-Chairperson of the Committee, Ms. Amma Yeboaa (Ghana) introduced the document and reported on the results of consultations held in Working Group I. The Secretary of the Committee read out additional corrections to the document. Following statements by the representatives of the United States, Spain (on behalf of the European Union), Nigeria and Tunisia, the Committee decided to postpone consideration of the text of Chapter VI contained in Non-Paper No. 18 - 16 - ANNOUNCEMENTS Tickets for the Plenary meeting, Friday, 15 September Conference participants are informed that tickets for the closing session of the Conference on Friday, 15 September, are available in the Protocol Office, which is located at the Registration Centre at the Tennis Court. The following number of tickets will be available: 4 for Government delegations, 2 for inter-governmental organizations and 2 for United Nations bodies and specialized agencies. * * * * * Contact Groups Information on the small informal contact groups of Working Groups I and II can be found on the Bulletin Board located at the top of the escalator on the second floor of the BICC. * * * * * Security The Security and Safety Service of the Conference has requested that the participants take their personal belongings with them at the conclusion of each meeting. For security reasons, belongings such as briefcases should not be left unattended at any time. All participants in the Conference are reminded that it is essential for them to wear their Conference passes at all times when they are in the Centre. Passes should be worn on the outermost garment in order for security and safety personnel to see them clearly. * * * * * Headsets for interpretation Participants are requested to leave the headsets on their tables - they should not be removed from the meeting rooms. * * * * * Documents Distribution The main documents distribution counter is located on the first floor of the Beijing International Convention Centre (BICC) to the right of the main entrance. Each delegation will be assigned a pigeon-hole for official conference documentation. Documents will also be made available in all conference rooms. Delegations are requested to inform the conference officers at the counter of their requirements in terms of number of copies and languages required. The cooperation of delegations is requested in keeping their requests for copies within reasonable limits. * * * * * Distribution of documents for information purposes Participants are reminded that the pigeon holes at the Documents Distribution Counter are for official documentation only. Participants wishing to circulate documents for information purposes, for which tables are located outside the conference rooms, are requested to bring two copies of each such document to the office of Mr. William Bunch, Coordinator for Secretariat Services, at the BICC, Room 5015.
