The following participants will be issued UN grounds passes through the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) registration desk (in the main lobby of the UN building, enter through the Visitor’s Entrance located on 1st Avenue and 46th Street):
- Representatives of ECOSOC accredited Major Groups
The following participants’ registration will be handled by the UN Protocol and Liaison Service:
- Representatives of Member States
- Representatives of UN Specialized Agencies or Related Organizations
- Representatives of Accredited Inter-governmental Organisations (IGOs)
- Representatives of Inter-governmental Organisations (IGOs) with observer status
Registration for Representatives of Member States
Government officials should send a letter signed by an authorizing official through their Permanent Missions to the United Nations in New York, together with the filled "Registration of Members of Delegations to Temporary Meetings" form SG.6 (with official seal) to the UN Protocol and Liaison Service in New York.

Registration for Representatives of UN Specialized Agencies or Related Organizations
Specialized agencies and related Inter-governmental organizations (IGOs) of the United Nations* should notify the UN Protocol and Liaison Service through their liaison office in New York or via their Headquarters office. A letter signed by an authorizing official from each organization together with the "Registration of Members of Delegations to Temporary Meetings" form SG.6 with official seal should be sent to:

Inter-governmental organizations (IGOs) should notify the UN Protocol and Liaison Service through their liaison office in NY or their Headquarters office. A letter signed by an authorizing official from each organization together with the "Registration of Members of Delegations to Temporary Meetings" form with official seal should be addressed to:

The UNFF session is open to IGOs accorded permanent observer status to the GA, ECOSOC and the supplementary arrangements for CSD.
Registration for Representatives of Inter-governmental Organisations (IGOs) with observer status
At least three weeks prior to the meeting, Inter-governmental Organisations (IGOs) with observer status should register their representatives by sending the UNFF Secretariat an official letter on the organization's letter-head and signed by the Executive-Director listing the names and contact information of each representative being nominated to attend the UNFF7 session.
Inter-governmental organizations (IGOs) with observer status should also notify the UN Protocol and Liaison Service through their liaison office in New York or via their Headquarters office. A letter signed by an authorizing official from each organization together with the "Registration of Members of Delegations to Temporary Meetings" form SG.6 with official seal should be sent to:

- Commission des Forêts d'Afrique Centrale (COMIFAC)
- Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution
- International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF)
- International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR)
- International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO)
- Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE)
- Montreal Process
- Secretariat of the Pacific Community
- Secretariat of the Tehran Process for Low Cover Forest Countries (LFCCs)
Registration for Representatives of ECOSOC accredited Major Groups
Only organizations accredited with the Economic and Social Committee (ECOSOC) of the UN or with the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) can register for the UNFF7 meeting. Please verify that your organization is ECOSOC accredited using the ECOSOC NGO database.
At least three weeks prior to the meeting, accredited organizations should register their representatives by sending the UNFF Secretariat an official letter on the organization's letter-head and signed by the Executive-Director listing the names and contact information of each representative being nominated to attend UNFF7.
Upon receipt of the nomination letter, the UNFF Secretariat will send each participant a confirmation letter with further details regarding pass retrieval at the session. This letter and a photo ID will need to be shown at to the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) registration desk (in the main lobby of the UN building, enter through the Visitor’s Entrance located on 1st Avenue and 46th Street).
Please make sure that your organization has the necessary consultative status BEFORE sending representatives to New York or making travel arrangements for them.
Registration
for Inter-governmental Organizations (IGOs) without Consultative
Status in the UN
IGOs without consultative status with the United Nations, can submit an application (including supporting documents outlining the organization's constitution/mandate, governance structure and current work programme) to:

The
application will be reviewed against the existing criteria (including geographical scope, membership – at least three Member countries must be specified in the application)
and if these are met, the requesting IGO will be submitted
through the Bureau for the approval of the UNFF on the first
day of the session.
