Media Accreditation

The following participants’ registration will be handled by the UN Protocol and Liaison Service:

• Member States
• UN Specialized Agencies or Related Organizations
• Inter-governmental Organisations (IGOs) with observer status to the UN
• International & Regional entities with observer status to UNFF

Delegations of Member States, intergovernmental organizations and specialized agencies are required to submit a letter signed by an authorizing official, no later than Friday, 29 March 2013, providing a list of official delegation with names, functional titles and affiliates, through their Permanent Missions or Liaison Offices to the United Nations Protocol and Liaison Service in New York:

Submission of the letter signed by an authorizing official should be followed by on-line registration by logging onto http://iAccredit.un.org and completion the following procedure:

Upon verification of the information on the lists of delegations, the Protocol and Liaison Service will authorize pass applications. Delegations are kindly reminded to send in their official lists before the deadline on Friday, 29 March 2013. It is to be noted that no approval will be granted prior to receipt of the official lists of delegations or letters of nomination.

The on-site accreditation of delegates of Member States/Observers, intergovernmental organizations and specialized agencies will begin in Istanbul on Friday, 5 April 2013 by the Protocol Accreditation Unit at the Accreditation Center located at:

International and regional entities without observer status

International and regional entities without observer status to the UNFF may send their participation requests to the UNFF Secretariat, via an official letter on the organization's letter-head and signed by the Chief Executive listing the names, dates of participation, and contact information of each representative being nominated to attend the UNFF session. Upon receipt of the nomination letter, the UNFF Secretariat will send each participant a confirmation letter with further details regarding pass retrieval at the session. This letter and a photo ID will need to be shown at to the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) registration desk..

Applying for observer status with the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF)

International and regional entities without consultative status can submit an application for observer status with the UN Forum on Forests. Applications are reviewed by the UNFF Bureau and if approved, the application is submitted through the UNFF Bureau for the approval of the UN Forum on Forests on the first day of the Forum session.

The application should state the organization's geographical scope, mandate, membership and interest in receiving accreditation to the Forum as well as the relevance in the work of the Forum. Applications should be sent via the UNFF Secretariat, for transmittal to the UNFF Bureau:
