Travel Support and Participant Registration Information
The ad hoc expert group will be composed of Government-designated experts from all UNFF Member States. Travel support and daily subsistence allowance may be provided to one Government-designated expert from Developing Countries and Countries with Economies in Transition to the maximum extent possible from the budget on a first come, first serve basis. A Note Verbale regarding travel support was sent to all Permanent Missions to the UN in New York on 25 March 2010. Please note that the deadline for all travel support requests made by the national authorities through their Permanent Missions to the UN in New York is 30 June 2010.

Opening date and place of the session
The first meeting of the open-ended intergovernmental ad hoc expert group on forest financing (AHEG-1) will be held in the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON), UN Avenue, Gigiri, Nairobi from 13 to 17 September 2010. The opening session will take place on Monday, 13 September 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
Registration of participants and identification badges
Security regulations at the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON) require that all participants be registered in order to enter the UNON premises. Member States, international/regional organizations and major groups are requested to officially provide information on participants/delegations to the Secretariat of the UNFF, fax 1 (917) 367-3186. Registration will take place at the Delegate's Registration Counter of the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Gigiri on 9 and 13 September 2010, from 8.00 a.m. onwards. Participants of the "AHEG-1" meeting are invited to register as early as possible and are requested to complete registration formalities by 9:00 a.m. on 13 September 2010 in order to be on time for the opening session of the meeting.
Upon registration at the UNON Delegate's Registration Counter, participants will be issued UNON conference passes, in the appropriate categories, bearing their name and country or organization. For security reasons the display of conference/grounds passes is necessary for admittance to the UNON as well as to the conference premises.
Simultaneous interpretation in English, French and Spanish will be made available at the AHEG-1 meeting.
Access to the UNON, Nairobi
Participants coming by taxi are advised to negotiate the fare in advance as taxis in Nairobi do not use meters. The address to be given to the drivers is the United Nations Office in Gigiri, Nairobi.
