Intergovernmental Actions in the Follow-up to the International Conference on Financing for Development

The Monterrey Consensus established an intergovernmental follow-up process in both the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council.

Every year in the spring, ECOSOC holds a special high-level meeting with the leadership of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organization and UNCTAD on the follow-up to the Monterrey Consensus. Every summer ECOSOC devotes up to 2 days during its substantive session to deliberation of FfD agenda item.
