Second High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development
27-28 June 2005, UN Headquarters, New York
The High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development took place on 27 and 28 June 2005 in New York at UN Headquarters. The overall theme of the High-level Dialogue was "The Monterrey Consensus: status of implementation and tasks ahead". The first day of the Dialogue consisted of a formal meeting chaired by the President of the General Assembly, at which ministers and high-level officials were able to make formal statements. The second day was devoted to six interactive multi-stakeholder round tables followed by an informal interactive dialogue with the participation of all relevant stakeholders. The central theme of each of the round tables was an individual chapter of the Monterrey Consensus. The Dialogue has resulted in the summary by the President of the General Assembly of the High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development as an input to the preparatory process of the "2005 World Summit".
