The Addis Ababa International Conference on Financing for Development presents a landmark opportunity to continue the policy discourse on Africa’s development and transformation agenda, specifically in the context of the post-2015 development agenda, and showcase Africa’s future potential.
On the occasion of the Addis Ababa International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD), the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in collaboration with, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) will co-host the African–Side Event entitled ‘Transforming Africa’. It will focus on three major issues of particular significance in Africa’s transformation and potential for greater investment: Agricultural Transformation, Sustainable and Inclusive Industrialization; and Sustainable Infrastructure and Energy.
The African Side Event has the following three objectives:
• Highlighting the drivers of African economic growth and their challenges;
• Creating awareness among participants that modernizing African agriculture; promoting inclusive, sustained and green industrialization and investing in sustainable infrastructure and energy are very critical for African transformation; and
• Stressing the opportunity and the huge untapped potential that exists for partnership for public and private sectors investment in these areas.
