Summary
The side event will focus on the challenges posed to Latin America and Caribbean countries to foster the mobilization of domestic resources in an asymmetric global financial context. National resource mobilization strategies must be approached taking into consideration the broader external environment that addresses the asymmetries in the international financial and fiscal global architecture. Mobilization of domestic resources goes beyond increasing tax revenues and improving tax structures. Tax evasion and elusion and illicit flows should be tackled. In this context, the event should address the important role of international cooperation in fiscal matters. Domestic mobilization of resources also includes the role of development banks.
