Tax Inspectors Without Borders: tackling domestic resource mobilisation with a practical hands-on approach

  • Date: 18 April 2016, 1:15 pm - 2:30 pm
  • Location: CR-F (Conference Room F, General Assembly Building 1B)

Organised by:

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

Summary:

Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) was launched as a joint UNDP/OECD partnership at the FfD Conference in Addis Ababa in July 2015 by UNDP Administrator Helen Clark and OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría. The initiative was designed to support developing countries to strengthen domestic resource mobilization by transferring technical know-how and skills to developing countries’ tax auditors. To date, TIWB has delivered an estimated 185 million USD in additional revenues.

The side event will give an update on where we stand, results that have been achieved and future plans. Participants include high-level individuals from both OECD and/or UNDP as well as the newly appointed head of the TIWB programme, Mr. James Karanja.
