About the Report
This report has been prepared as a Norwegian special report to the UN General Assembly Special Session on the follow up of Agenda 21, 5 years after UNCED in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In this report you will find examples of what Norwegian authorities
and organisations have done together in order to follow up Agenda
21. The organisations involved are represented in the National Committee for International Environmental Questions (NIM):
- Ministry of Environment Norway
- Other ministries
- The Prime Minister's Office
- The Research Council of Norway
- The Confederation of Norwegian Business and Industry; NHO
- The Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature; NNV
- The Norwegian Forum for Women and Development Issues; FOKUS
- The Norwegian Forum for Development and Environment; FORUM
- Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities; KS
- The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions; LO
Each organisation is responsible for their own contribution to this report. The purpose is to present the various stakeholders in this work and give concrete examples on the follow-up of Agenda 21.
