Overview

The purpose of the meeting is to:

  • provide a forum for the SIDS of the Caribbean region to evaluate continuing national and regional challenges in implementing the Mauritius Strategy as outlined in the respective national assessment reports,
  • to assess ongoing monitoring and evaluation activities,
  • to discuss common priorities for action,
  • and to prepare a regional synthesis report for consideration by CSD-18 acting as the preparatory committee for the high-level review of the Mauritius Strategy in September 2010.

Organizers

The meeting will be organized by the SIDS Unit in collaboration with ECLAC, UNDP, CARICOM, and OECS.

National Assessment Reports

Guidelines for the preparation of National Assessment Reports have been sent out to the SIDS countries via their respective Missions to the UN. The deadline for the submission of the reports is 30 November, 2009. Reports will be available on this page as they are received from the below listed countries in the Caribbean region:
