It is expected to increase by another 1.8° C to 4° C by the year 2100 – a rapid and profound change – if the necessary action is not taken. Men leaders to combat violence against women

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon marked the 10th anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 24 November by launching a Network of Men Leaders, a major new initiative bringing together current and former politicians, activists, religious and community figures to combat the global pandemic. “These men will add their voices to the growing global chorus for action,” he said.

Mr. Sergei Zelenev, Chief of the Social Integration Branch, Division for Social Policy and Development, retired on 30 November 2009. His responsibilities included substantive support to the intergovernmental policy dialogue of member states at the United Nations, and facilitating international cooperation on social development issues, including technical cooperation.
