En ce qui concerne le Climat, le pays n'a pas encore approuvé le Protocole de Montréal et la Convention Cadre des Nations Unies sur les Changements Climatiques. Il faut les approuver parce qu'il y a certaines activités qui doivent être mises en oeuvres dans le cadre de ces textes.

En ce qui concerne la forêt Sao Tomé-et-Príncipe participe à un programme régional au niveau de l'Afrique Centrale, le programme de conservation et utilisation rationelle des éco-systèmes forestiers (ECOFAC). La Direction de la Forêt en collaboration avec les projets APOFA-GTZ (coopération allemande) et ECOFAC mettront en place certaines activités très importantes, telles que: des actions de formations de perfectionnement technique au niveau de la gestion des ressources forestières, la création des ecogardes et des gardes forestiers, la création du Parc National "OBO" et l'élaboration de la Loi Forestière.

Le pays a ratifié la Convention sur le Droit de la Mer en 1982. Il n'existe aucun programme ou plan de gestion intégré de la zone côtière du pays. C'est une situation très grave parce que le pays est insulaire et il faut trouver auprès de nos partenaires les moyens financiers nécessaires pour la mise en place d'un projet relatif à la zone côtière.
