Fang Gang

Fang Gang is the director of the Institute of Sexuality and Gender Study at the Beijing Forestry University. He is an associate professor with a PhD in Sociology, and is one of the earliest scholars to have studied masculinities in China.

In 2005, Mr. Gang founded the "Feminist Men Academic Salon" to help promote male involvement in gender studies in China. In addition, he founded and is the head of the "Annual Analysis of Sexuality and Gender news in China" (2008), and the "Men against gender based violence hotline" (2010).

More than fifty books have been published by Mr. Gang. These include Multiple Sexual Partners: Social Control Study, The Study on Masculinities and Men’s Movement, The Sexualities and Gender in Transition of China, Gender Psychology, Men: The third sex, Men who sell sex to women: a study of masculinities, Swinging: a study of intimate relationship, Nudist in China, and Sexual human right and gender: new view of Sexuality education in School.
