The Counter Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF) Office organised a Media Round Table event at the margins of the Secretary-General’s Symposium on International Counter-Terrorism Cooperation.
The Media Round Table served as a forum for interaction between the UN and the media representatives on counter-terrorism issues.
More than 60 international journalists attended the event which was opened with brief remarks by panel members and followed by a question and answer session.
The panel included the CTITF Chairman Robert Orr, Foreign Ministers of Indonesia Marty Natalegawa, and Jonas Gahr Støre of Norway, Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Abdallah Y. al-Mouallimi, Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), Executive Director, Mike Smith, The General Counsel of INTERPOL Joel Sollier, Richard Barrett, Coordinator, Al Qaida and Taliban Sanctions Committee Monitoring Team and Jonathon Lucas, Director, United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research centre (UNICRI).
