Guided Tours in New York City
Guided Tours of UN Headquarters start in the General Assembly building, entrance at 46th Street and 1st Avenue (ticket information). Our one hour guided tours offer an exciting opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes view of the UN at work. During the tour, you will visit the newly renovated General Assembly Hall, the Security Council Chamber, the Trusteeship Council Chamber, and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Chamber in the newly renovated Conference Building. (For security reasons, children under 5 years of age are not permitted on tours.) Tours are offered in the six official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish). Based on availability, tours in other languages such as German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Swedish are also offered upon request. UN Headquarters in New York is accessible to persons with disabilities. If a member of your group is a wheelchair user or otherwise requires extra assistance, please call 1-212-963-7539. Wheelchairs are provided upon request to visitors who require them during the tour.
Guided Tours in Geneva
Be one of the 100,000 visitors who take the tour of the Palais des Nations each year. Our tours are available in more than 15 languages and last for one hour. Please check with us for languages other than English and French. What you will see, depending on our daily schedule of meetings includes: The Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room, decorated by famous artist Miquel Barcelò; The Salle des Pas Perdus, from which you can see the Armillary Sphere and the monument commemorating the conquest of outer space; The Assembly Hall, the largest room in the Palais des Nations. The Council Chamber, where many important historical negotiations have taken place, with murals by José Maria Sert; a film on the activities and the objectives of the United Nations Office; gifts presented by various countries to the United Nations Office at Geneva. During the tour, our tour Guides will inform you about the current activities of the United Nations. They will also talk about the history of the Palais des Nations, formerly the headquarters of the League of Nations.
Guided Tours in Vienna
Take a guided tour of the UN Office at Vienna. Along with New York, Geneva and Nairobi, the Vienna International Centre (VIC) is one of the four headquarters of the United Nations. Visitors have the opportunity to get a first-hand look around the VIC and learn more about the United Nations. Multilingual guides of different nationalities will show you around the buildings and inform you about the United Nations and the work of the Vienna-based organizations in fields such as drugs and crime, the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and space technology, industrial development and the care of refugees. Lasting approximately one hour, the tours take in exhibitions, visits to a conference room and the communal areas of the VIC and give you a taste of the fascinating world of the United Nations. Tours in English or German are offered twice daily, and group tours in any of 10 other languages are available if prior notice is given. Groups of schoolchildren are also welcome.

The Visitors’ Service of the UN Office at Nairobi conducts guided tours Monday through Thursday, between 9.00 AM to 2.00 PM and Friday 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM year-round, except on UN holidays.The green and environmentally-friendly compound of the UN Office at Nairobi is populated with hundreds of indigenous tree and plants species and a remarkable variety of wildlife. The bountiful lush green landscaped area is unique to the 140-acred forest-fringed compound.
