20th Commemoration of the Rwanda Genocide (2014)

In 2014, the 20th Anniversary of the Rwandan genocide, commemorative events were centred around the theme of Kwibuka – Remember, Unite, Renew. The memorial ceremony at United Nations Headquarters in New York took place on 16 April 2014. The ceremony was followed by the opening of an exhibition “Kwibuka20: Memory, Unity & Renewal in Rwanda after the Genocide” in the United Nations Visitors Centre. The exhibition was organized by Kwibuka, the Government of Rwanda, the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and Aegis Trust. It was endorsed by the Permanent Mission of Rwanda to the United Nations.
