January – March 2013

31 January -1 February, Panama - Global thematic consultation on conflict and fragility organized by the Peacebuilding Support Office, UNDP, UNICEF and UNISDR. The consultation is to build consensus on how issues like conflict, violence and fragility can be included in the post-2015 development framework.

5 March, The Peacebuilding Support Office, the Quaker UN Office and Peace Direct are organizing an informal consultation, hosted by the Rockefeller Foundation, to discuss increased UN engagement with local peacebuilding actors in the developing world.

13 March, High-level Meeting Global Thematic Consultation on Conflict, violence and Disaster and the Post-2015 Development in Helsinki hosted by the Government of Finland and co-organized by the Peacebuilding Support Office, UNDP, UNICEF and UNISDR.

25 March, The Deputy Head and Director of UN Peacebuilding Support Office, Ejeviome Eloho Otobo, will speak at the event "THE UNITED NATIONS AND THE EUROPEAN UNION: Strengthening partnerships and improving effectiveness in peacebuilding" organised by the Global Governance Institute in Brussels.

April - June 2013

19 April, The Assistant Secretary-General for Peacebuilding Support, Judy Cheng-Hopkins, and Henk-Jan Brinkman, Chief of the Policy, Planning and Application Branch, will participate in the third Global Meeting of the International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Statebuilding in Washington D.C.

23-24 April, The PBF Advisory Group meeting in New York.

20-22 May, Peacebuilding Support Office - Assistant Secretary-General, Judy Cheng-Hopkins’ visit to Niger

27-31 May, Peacebuilding Support Office - Assistant Secretary-General, Judy Cheng-Hopkins at the annual meeting of the African Development Bank in Morroco

5 June, PBSO has co-organized, with UNDP and UNICEF, and in cooperation with the Mission of Finland to the African Union, a Special Briefing for the African Union and other stakeholders in Addis Ababa. The briefing will discuss the findings of the Synthesis Report of the Global Thematic Consultation on Conflict, Violence and Disaster and the Post-2015 Development Agenda and the Recommendations of the Report of the High-Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda. This briefing takes place in the context of ongoing conversations on the Post-2015 Development Agenda through UNDG’s Open and Inclusive Global Consultations Process.

18-19 June, Meeting of Experts on Accountability Framework for Conflict, Violence and Disaster for the Post-2015 Development Agenda organized by the PBSO, UNDP and UNICEF. The meeting -- a follow-up to the Global Thematic Consultation on Conflict, Violence and Disaster and the Post-2015 Development -- will focus on possible targets and indicators to give more precision to how conflict and violence could be incorporated in the post-2015 framework. please contact: Henk-Jan Brinkman (brinkman@un.org)

The Forum is organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

2 October- IPI hosted round table co-organised by the Government of Burundi and the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) , with the participation of Foreign Minister of Burundi, Laurent Kavakure. This is the last rendez-vous in New York before the Partners' Conference in Switzerland on 29-30 October.

13 - 14 Nov- PBSO Chief of Policy, Henk-Jan Brinkman, will brief the g7+ Ministerial Retreat in Haiti on the progress made in the working group of The International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Statebuilding on peacebuilding indicators.

29 Nov- The UN Secretary-General, Nobel Laureate Ms. Tawakkol Karman of Yemen and the Chair of the PBF Advisory Group, Mr. Jan Knutsson, Ambassador and Representative of Sweden to the United Nations in Geneva, will address the third annual Stakeholders meeting of the Peacebuilding Fund in New York. The meeting will review the Fund’s performance and will seek replenishment from Member States
