Charles Uy, a national of the Philippines, was a MOVCON Assistant from the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).
He died on 30 March 2011 in an unfortunate traffic accident in Entebbe (Uganda), where the UN has a logistics base.
'Movcon' (movement control) staff coordinate the movement of cargo or people through a thorough analysis of the available and most cost-effective transportation assets. Based upon their conclusions, the Transport Section (road movements) or Air Operations are then tasked to execute the operation.
