Readout of the President of the General Assembly’s meeting with H. E. Ms. Aurelia Frick, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture of Liechtenstein

The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. John W. Ashe, met today with H.E. Ms. Aurelia Frick, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Liechtenstein. The Foreign Minister congratulated President Ashe on assuming the Presidency of the General Assembly and commended him on the theme he had selected on the “Post-2015 Development Agenda: Setting the Stage!” as well as the work programme for the sixty-eighth session. She noted the importance that she attaches to women’s affairs and the rule of law in her own agenda.
The Foreign Minister elaborated that Liechtenstein will be following discussions of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals with particular interest in women, human rights and the rule of law in the context of the sustainable development goals.
President Ashe encouraged the engagement of Liechtenstein on issues of human rights and the rule of law during the sixty-eighth session.
The position of Liechtenstein in the United Nations Security Council Reform was also discussed.
The Foreign Minister assured President Ashe of Liechtenstein’s support in the work of the General Assembly at its sixty-eighth session.
