Readout of the President of the General Assembly’s meeting with H. E. Mr. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Fiji

The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. John W. Ashe met today with H.E. Mr. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Fiji. They had a cordial exchange on the support of the Group of 77 and China to the work of the sixty-eighth session.
Foreign Minister Kubuabola and President Ashe then discussed prospects for the Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States. Both shared their optimism that the Third International Conference will be a success.
President Ashe commended Fiji for its leadership of the Group of 77 and China and expressed his desire that Fiji would remain actively engaged in the work of the General Assembly.
The Foreign Minister assured the President of the support of the Group of 77 and China, and that of his own delegation of Fiji.
