President Ashe meets with H. E. Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, President of Bulgaria.
The President of the General Assembly met today with H.E. Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, President of Bulgaria. President Plevneliev welcomed the PGA's theme for the sixty-eighth session, “The Post-2015 Development Agenda-Setting the Stage!” President Plevneliev underscored that the post-2015 agenda will have a major impact on industry and will encourage the development of innovative new technologies. He outlined the need to promote this agenda across national and generational borders. He noted that the Balkans has many examples of best practices and lessons learned since it successfully transitioned from a post-conflict to a peaceful, stable region.
The PGA agreed and welcomed the support of Bulgaria in promoting the post-2015 Development Agenda.
President Plevneliev also mentioned that Bulgaria is ready to take up the Chairmanship of the Third Committee and to make positive contributions to the work of the General Assembly. The PGA congratulated Bulgaria and expressed his interest in working closely with the country.
