President Ashe meets with H.E. Mr. Harald Braun, Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations

The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. John W. Ashe, met today with H.E. Mr. Harald Braun, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations. Discussions focused on reform of the principal organs of the United Nations, namely the Security Council, the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and on the elaboration of the Post-205 Development Agenda.
Ambassador Braun praised President Ashe for his efforts in facilitating the process of Security Council reform negotiations and expressed the hope that this would continue. President Ashe outlined key exercises being undertaken for the elaboration of the Post-2015 Development Agenda. Discussions also covered the situations in Syria and Ukraine.
The new Ambassador expressed Germany's continued support to the sustainable development agenda and offered the country's ongoing active participation for the Post-2015 process.
