President Ashe meets with H.E. Ms. Ana Trišić-Babić, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina

President Ashe with H.E. Ms. Ana Trišić-BabićThe President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. John W. Ashe, met today with H.E. Ms. Ana Trišić-Babić, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the vast experience Bosnia and Herzegovina has gained over the past twenty-one years from post-conflict to peace building to becoming a country in transition. She pointed out that her country's experience, could contribute to the discussions on the elaboration of the Post-2015 Development Agenda, including specifically through the President's High-level Event on Human Rights and the Rule of Law in the Post-2015 Development Agenda to be held in June. In the same light, President Ashe invited the participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at his upcoming thematic debate on Ensuring Stable and Peaceful Societies.

The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed Bosnia and Herzegovina's concerns for the recent developments in Ukraine. She also underlined the need to further strengthen access to quality education and boost economic growth in her country.

The Deputy Foreign Minister participated in the President of the General Assembly's High-Level Event on the Contributions of Women, the Young and Civil Society in the Post-2015 Development Agenda, held 6-7 March at UN Headquarters.
