President Ashe meets with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, President of the Assembly of Counselors of Morocco

Rabat, Morocco 6 January 2014

President Ashe meets with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Cheikh BiadillahThe President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. John W. Ashe, met today with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, President of the Assembly of Counselors of Morocco, during his official visit.

Mr. Biadillah raised a number of issues, including the "Arab Spring", rights and gender equality, the diversity of the Moroccan people, the new Constitution and the country’s legislative processes. He identified some of the major challenges the country is facing; specifically illegal immigration, and trafficking in drugs, arms and persons, which are funded by terrorist networks.

The President expressed his appreciation for the informative briefing and commended the government’s many accomplishments and commitment to improving its governance process.
