Ms. Abigail Somma
Ms. Abigail Somma is a communications professional, with experience as a speechwriter, journalist, web content producer, editor and playwright. Among other assignments, she has spent the last decade writing speeches, op-eds, reports, blog posts and feature articles for think tanks, media outlets and international organizations. Her various assignments include work for the United Nations, the World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) and others. In 2011-2012, she was the speechwriter for the Secretary-General of the largest conference in UN history, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, both during and in advance of the Conference. In addition, she has written numerous short and full-length plays for the theatre and has had three professional productions. Ms. Somma has a Master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, a Bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and is a national of the United States of America.
