Ms. Alina Padeanu
Adviser Human Rights and Rule of Law
Ms. Alina Padeanu has been working with Romanian Foreign Ministry since 1998. In 2003, she joined the team of the Romanian Permanent Representation to the European Union (EU), contributing to the management of Romania’s transition to an EU Member State. In January 2012, she joined the European External Action Service (EEAS), working in the Asia-Pacific Department. Ms. Padeanu has dealt with a variety of policy issues, including foreign policy to development, human rights, justice and home affairs, trade, economic and financial. Ms. Padeanu has a degree in Journalism and Communication and a MA in Cultural Studies from the University of Bucharest. She complemented her education with advanced study programs in EU and International Affairs in Paris (L’Institut national d’administration publique; Ecole Nationale d’Administration) and Clingendael (Netherlands Institute of International Relations). Ms. Padeanu is a national of Romania and a citizen of the EU.
