H.E. Mr. Crispin S. Gregoire
His Excellency Mr. Crispin S. Gregoire, a national of the Commonwealth of Dominica, started his career in 1982 in international development, first with Appropriate Technology International, followed by a five year engagement as Director of US Save the Children-Dominica Field Office. He later directed the Injury Prevention Program of the New York City Department of Health, followed by a stint in Nigeria as a Program Consultant with the Ford Foundation's Office for West Africa for a six year period. He later worked in global civil society development as Director of Global Programs at the BoardSource, Inc. in Washington, DC.
In 2002, Ambassador Gregoire was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Dominica tot he United Nations, a post he held for 8 years. During that period, he served as Dominica's delegate to the International Criminal Court, and as a Member of the UN Committee on NGOs, and the UN Decolonisation Committee. He was active in the UNFCCC negotiations, and in trade negotiations at the WTO, Prior to joining the Office of the President of the General Assembly, he served as Chief, Strategic Monitoring and Support of Caribbean Country Offices, Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNDP.
Ambassador Gregoire holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Columbia University, and a Master of Education Degree from Howard University. His research has focused on nonprofit governance, Indigenous People of the Caribbean, and geothermal energy development in Dominica.
