President of the General Assembly meets with the President of Togo
The President of the General Assembly Mr. Vuk Jeremić met today with H.E. Mr. Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, the President of Togo.
The President of the General Assembly presented his priorities for the 67th Session, as well as the main theme of the presidency “Bringing about adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations by peaceful means.”
They exchanged views on the President’s initiative to introduce a consultative mechanism between the General Assembly and the Group of 20 (G-20) and to organize a high-level debate for that purpose.
They discussed the situation in Africa, in particular recent developments in Mali, and agreed on the need to respect international law and territorial integrity in this regard.
