President Jeremić meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda
The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Vuk Jeremić, met with H.E. Ms. Louise Mushikiwabo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda.
President Jeremić acknowledged Minister Mushikiwabo’s country’s strong commitment to the work of the General Assembly. As a Non-Permanent Member of the Security Council, the Minister discussed Rwanda’s stance on various global security issues with the President.
The President and the Minister discussed a number of important regional issues, focusing mainly on the situation in Africa. They also discussed the beginning of the work of the Open Working Group on the Sustainable Development Goals. The President presented Minister Mushikiwabo with the list of thematic debates planned during the session. The Minister indicated Rwanda’s special interest to participate in the thematic debate on International Criminal Justice due to the existence of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
They concluded by discussing the interests of Rwanda within the UN General Assembly. President Jeremić invited Minister Mushikiwabo to attend upcoming thematic debates which will hold special interest to Rwanda.
