President of the General Assembly Meets Two Senior Officials of UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London
The President of the General Assembly H.E. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser held talks today in London with Mr. Jeremy Browne, MP, who is a Minister of State at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
They discussed the Falkland Islands / Malvinas, the situation in Syria and the Middle East peace process.
President Al-Nasser later held separate discussions with Mr. Henry Bellingham, MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
They exchanged views on Somalia, especially last week’s conference on Somalia, which was organized and hosted by the UK Government.
They also discussed matters concerning the Fifth Committee of the UN General Assembly, dealing with Administrative and Budgetary issues, especially the approval of the current UN Regular Budget, and preparations for the upcoming resumed session in May that will consider peacekeeping budgets. Also discussed were the issues of Global Governance and the High Level meeting that the President of the General Assembly is convening regarding, “The State of the World Economy” on 17th-18th of May 2012.
