President Al Nasser meets with the President of Palestine

With the issue of  Palestinian statehood taking center stage at the 66th session of the UN General Assembly,  President of the General Assembly, Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas . Mr. Abbas briefed President Al-Nasser on his meeting with Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Monday. The Palestinian President told President Al-Nasser that he had informed the Secretary General that he would present him with a letter requesting full UN membership for Palestine on Friday. Mr. Abbas added that Mr. Ban stated that he would send the application submitted by the Palestinians to the Security Council.

President Al Nasser meets with the Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium

President of the General Assembly, Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, today held discussions with the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr.  Steven Vanackere.
The two leaders stressed the importance of the subject of Mediation – one of the four key pillars identified by President Al-Nasser for his tenure during the 66th Session of the General Assembly.  They also touched on the need to improve the international response to crisis and catastrophe around the world.

President Al-Nasser and Mr. Vanackere further discussed the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question.


President Al Nasser meets with the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and State Secretary for Political Affairs of Montenegro

President of the General Assembly, Mr.Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser held talks with H.E. Igor Luksic, the Prime Minister of Montenegro and his Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Milan Rocen as well as the State Secretary for Political Affairs, H.E. Nebojsa Kaludjerovic. The talks focused on the main topics on the agenda of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly. President Al-Nasser highlighted the theme of mediation that he had chosen for the 66th session of the General Assembly. On his part, Prime Minister Luksic indicated that the theme is inspiring and in line with one of Montenegro’s pillars of foreign policy. He expressed his country’s full commitment to the work of the General Assembly and support to the agenda of this session.
