President Deiss concludes a two-day official visit to Liechtenstein
The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Joseph Deiss, concluded today a two-day official visit to the Principality of Liechtenstein. The President met with H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Alois, the Head of Government, H.E. Mr. Klaus Tschütscher, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ms. Aurelia Frick, the President of the Parliament of Liechtenstein, Mr. Arthur Brunhart, members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Liechtenstein and representatives of the business and financial sector. The main topics that were discussed were global governance, the reform of the Security Council and the review of the Human Rights Council. President Deiss also informed about the priorities of his Presidency in general and about the upcoming major events in the General Assembly. President Deiss also gave a public speech on the United Nations and global governance.
President Deiss congratulated Liechtenstein on the 20-year anniversary of its membership in the United Nations, which it had celebrated last September, and underlined his appreciation for the active and supportive role that Liechtenstein plays in the General Assembly as well as in the United Nations as a whole.
