President Deiss condemns attacks in Norway
H.E. Mr. Joseph Deiss, President of the General Assembly, was deeply shocked to learn about the violent attacks in Norway.
President Deiss is particularly distressed that one of the attacks has targeted young people, and that this has happened on the eve of the High-Level Meeting on Youth convened by the General Assembly in New York on 25 and 26 July 2011 to mark the International Year of Youth.
The President of the General Assembly strongly condemns these attacks and offers his condolences to the people and Government of Norway. His thoughts are with the victims and their families.
