Death of Osama Bin Laden
Following the announcement of the death of Osama Bin Laden, the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Joseph Deiss, recalls that Member States adopted a Global Counter-terrorism strategy (Resolution 60/288) that outlines a comprehensive approach to dealing with terrorism.
President Deiss reiterates that terrorism is unacceptable in all its forms and manifestation.
The President of the General Assembly stresses that the United Nations’s fight against terrorism is also undertaken in the name of all victims. Terrorists must know that there will be no impunity for their barbaric and cowardly deeds.
