General Assembly President Meets with H.E. Mr. Boyko Metodiev Borisov, Prime Minister of Bulgaria

The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Joseph Deiss, today met with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Boyko Metodiev Borisov. They discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of the sixty-fifth session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The President of the General Assembly and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria reiterated their commitment for the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals. Underlining the importance of global governance, President Deiss expressed his appreciation to the Prime Minister for Bulgaria’s efforts in sustaining a critical natural resource such as water –a key topic in the General Assembly. The Prime Minister also informed the President of the General Assembly, on his country’s fight against corruption and crime as well as the promotion of democratic institutions by Bulgaria.
President Deiss and Prime Minister Borisov reiterated their support for the revitalization of the work of the General Assembly.
