Websites of the United Nations have information in different electronic formats (e.g. PDF, MPG, RM, etc.) available as guides, documents, videos and sound files which can be viewed or heard if with the proper software.

If you cannot open a PDF document, video or sound file it may be due to the computer being used not having the necessary software installed.

This page provides information for downloading the free suitable software needed.

To download a programme, left-click/select the text link or logo provided (below).

Downloading typically begins automatically. The selection to "Save to Disk" is common, should a prompt appear with such a selection available. Other prompts requiring the selection of a location where the file(s) being downloaded is to be stored on the computer being used are also common.

Once the download is complete, an activating double-click of the file(s) may be necessary to execute the installation process of the programme if no automatic activity generates otherwise.
