- Opening of the session
The session will be opened by the Chairman of the Committee on Information. - Election of officers
At its organizational session in 1980, the Committee on Information reached an agreement according to which the principle of geographical rotation would be applied to all officers of the Committee, who would be elected for two-year terms. At the beginning of its thirty-fifth session, the Committee will elect a Chair, three Vice-Chairs and a Rapporteur to serve for the subsequent two years. - Adoption of the agenda and programme of work
The provisional agenda has been prepared on the basis of consultations among the members of the Bureau of the Committee on Information. - Admission of new members
The Committee will consider requests for membership in the Committee on Information. - Statement by the Chair
The Chair will address the Committee at its opening meeting. - Statement by the Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information
The Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information will address the Committee at its opening meeting to provide an update on the activities of the Department of Public Information and to report on the implementation of the recommendations contained in General Assembly resolutions 67/124 A and B.
